What Is a Buckyball?

Found an interesting article over at CNET’s Green Blog about something called buckyballs. Now, I’ve heard about the quest for hydrogen power, but hadn’t heard of buckyballs before. Apparently, they are “molecular balls made up of 60 or more carbon atoms–[and] can store hydrogen quite well.”

Why is hydrogen great as a power source? Proponents tout the availability (most readily available element in the universe), and in an engine, the output is water.

I think I might become a buckyball fan!
